Kenya Program Update

As we enter into the new year 2021, People for Progress Foundation extends our thanks and gratitude to you for your ongoing support of our programs throughout the years.

People for Progress Foundation Early Childhood Development School in Nairobi, Kenya, ran a pandemic response program from September to December 2020. The students at PFPF ECD School continued to receive education, nutrition and security amidst the government closing down of schools. The program was a huge success because it helped the children in the impoverished Dandora community spend more time on educational activities, and it offered employment to the staff and we contributed to the economic well-being of the community by purchasing our supplies from the local entrepreneurs.

PFPF ECD School reopened on Jan 4th for the 2021 school year along with other schools in Kenya. PFPF has ensured that a safe learning environment is maintained for the children and the teachers. We have ensured social distance in classes, provided masks to the teachers and students and have designated hand washing points. Temperature checks are carried out when the students come to school, and they sanitize.

These are unprecedented times as the pandemic has put immense pressure on all of us. We have no doubt that our teachers have the innovative skills required to adapt education to the new normal. They have the talent and enthusiasm on this challenge and deliver the curriculum in exciting ways.
