SECTION 2: Supplementary Personal Essay

  • The essay should tell us about yourself, your future aspirations and how this scholarship would help you achieve them
  • The essay should be no more than 250 words. Essays that exceed the word limit may be disqualified
  • The essay must be written by the applicant themselves. ANY form of plagiarism will disqualify the application

Essays will be judged on their ideas, content and clarity of writing. Since these are short personal essays, we encourage applicants to carefully reflect on personal experiences that help support their qualification for the scholarship. Personal experiences include but not limited to examples below:

  • Improving grades in a subject you have traditionally been weak in
  • Moving to Canada and not being proficient in English
  • Working to support your family
